Acoustix™ Hearing Technologies

Hearing Test

Our hearing assessments include the following steps:

  • Otoscopy, a visual check of your ear canal for excessive and occluding wax build and other abnormalities prior to conducting the hearing assessment. If required we arrange for the removal of excessive wax build up
  • Acoustic immittance – tympanometry (measuring ear drum mobility) and acoustic reflexes (measuring reflex action of muscle in the middle ear)
  • Pure tone audiometry (air and bone as required)
  • Speech audiometry - how well you understand words
  • Explanation of your test results

All hearing assessments are carried out in a certified audiometric test booth. We use modern and calibrated audiological equipment, which meet industry required standards.

The cost for a hearing assessment is $95.00.

Pilots, air traffic controllers, cabin crew, flight attendants, airport security personnel and everyone else requiring a hearing assessment will benefit from the accuracy provided by our professional set up.

Hearing assessments for Civil Aviation Authority requires sight of a photographic ID such as a valid Drivers Licence, Firearms Licence or Passport.
